The Bishop’s School (Country Day’s ultimate rival) was shown up today by our varsity men’s soccer team. At the beginning of the game, the Torrey’s chances looked bleak due to our unfortunate 2-0 loss versus the Knights last month. But tonight it was clearly Day time. The Torreys played a heated game ending in a 2-2 score with goals made by Alejandro Amescua[9] and Hunter Khaleghi[11]. There were a few injuries in this game, though one did stand out from the rest. As Adam Schecman saved a shot in the second half, a Bishop’s player ran through and tripped over Schecman’s head. But like a determined player, he recovered quickly to continue to play in the remainder of the game. Though the players and fans were equally riled up, Fleischhacker managed to be even louder than Gabi Shevl’s screams. When making his frustration on the referee’s calls heard, Fleischhacker received a yellow card. All in all, the Torreys played an amazing game and now have a solid record of 13-5-4. Come to the next men’s soccer game at Francis Parker on Wednesday the 16th at 5:45pm. GO BLUE!
